Caroline Sweeling Teo was born in Singapore, lived in Bermuda, Vancouver, Montreal and currently residing in London, U.K.


Her photographic works reflect themes of identity (issues), relationships, dualities, play of languages and semiotics.
Her portraitures and landscapes denote to an affiliation to or/and alienation from “home”.
There are references to a permanently displaced and relocated collective.


Teo studied Fine Arts at Langara College and Emily Carr College of Art & Design (currently known as Emily Carr University ) in Vancouver, Canada.
She concentrated in drawing, printmaking and Photography. She completed her studies at Concordia University, Montreal
with a BFA degree in 2000, majoring in Photography.


Teo’s photographs have been exhibited in Les Mois de la Photo in Montreal, Bitume in Brussels, Charles Scott Gallery,
Vancouver Collects in Vancouver Art Gallery and various Galleries in London.


Since 2005, she has worked as a commercial photographer in an advertising, production company,
The Bank, whilst concentrating on her personal projects.
